Alex Lai is Novotech's Senior Principal Consultant, End-to-End Drug Development, within the Drug Development Consulting (DDC) group. He brings more than 18 years of clinical development experience across biotech and pharmaceutical organizations, with deep expertise spanning early, mid, and late-stage clinical trials across a broad spectrum of therapeutic areas including neuromuscular and musculoskeletal disorders, rare genetic diseases, inflammation and immunology, and autoimmune conditions.
Alex is an accomplished physician-scientist and physician-executive, holding an MD and PhD, with more than a decade of direct patient-care clinical practice and a clinical fellowship and PhD from UCLA. His career includes leading cross-functional teams across multiple therapeutic areas and serving in senior clinical development roles, where he has shaped strategy, overseen complex clinical programs, and contributed to regulatory interactions and scientific communications.
